Satire
The definition of satire, according to merriam websters dictionary, is a literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn; also trenchant wit, irony, or sarcasm used to expose and discredit vice or folly. I think that satire can be used to help individuals get across a point and show how ridiculous someone is behaving. I've learned that some things that are catorgized as being satire really arn't, instead they're just plain mean.
Satire Examples:
This cartoon about MTV is satire because it's making fun of the ridiculous shows MTV airs. These shows are played constantly on TV and young kids watch them and get the idea that that's the way they should behave and how life is supposed to be. These shows promote bad behavior and actions, but this cartoon is making fun of how MTV trys to say that kids should not act in this manner.
